Today I am going to do a video in Kirundi I will be showing you how to make cassava leaves Let me show you what I will be using: Packed Cassava leaves, Onion, and Peanut Butter Palm oil I am using the packed cassava leaves because they are the ones that are more accessible Now I will be showing you how to cook the Cassava Leaves I will start by Cutting the onion and adding the Palm Oil into a hot pan

I am going to start by cutting the Onion I will be using 1/2 diced onion I am cutting the onion into tiny pieces Now I am cutting the yellow pepper into tiny pieces I have already added 3 tbsp of palm oil into the pan I am going to wait for about 1-5 minutes for the oil to heat up and I can add the onions and peppers I am going to wait for 5 minutes and add the packs of cassava leaves I am going to add in water After adding two cups of Water, I am going to add in Salt, and then Cover it I am going to let it cook for 15 minutes and then add peanut butter After 15 minutes, I am going to add peanut butter I am adding two tablespoons of peanut butter Mix well and be careful so that the mixture does not spill over you

I am going to add in one extra cup of water, reduce the heat (low and medium heat) and then cover it I am going to come and check it up after about every 30 minutes to see if I need to add more water I have added in 1 Chicken cube Maggi Add one extra cup of water after 45 minutes It has been two hours since I have been cooking the cassava leaves Now I am going to test and see if it is ready One trick is that if the oil comes up to the surface, that shows that the cassava leaves are ready Now the Cassava leaves are ready

For the people who like spicy food, you can add your chilli pepper and then cook it for an extra 5 minutes I did not add one because some of the people that are going to eat the cassava leaves do not like the spice I did not add beef or fish because of the people that I was cooking for I used some basic ingredients but the recipe came out really good I loved the cassava leaves
